In the field of precision machinery and micro/nano technology, the compliantmicro-transmission mechanism is a newly mechanism which employs the elasticdeformation of material to transfer or transform motion, force or energy. The compliantmicro-transmission mechanism is the key actuating mechanism in themicro/nano-positioning stage, which has now been the focus of many researches withthe advantages of no mechanical friction, no clearance, free assembly and highdisplacement resolution. However, the configuration design of the new compliantmicro-transmission mechanism does not have a unified design method, therefore, tocarry out research on the design method of it can play a positive role in promoting andenhancing our high level of precision technology.The topic of this thesis comes from the independent research project of the StateKey Laboratory and the open foundation project of the State Key Laboratory ofMechanical Transmission of Chongqing University (SKLMT-KFKT-200806). Thepurpose of this paper is to establish a new design method, and to explore theestablishment of a configuration design method for the compliant micro transmissionmechanism in order to better guide the engineering practice. For the compliant microtransmission mechanism, this thesis carried out studies on the basic transmissionprinciple, the basic calculation of the mechanism of different categories,micro-transmission configuration, developing configuration parametric design software,simulation and experimental verification. The main contents of this article are asfollows:Employing the basic theory and algorithms of theory of machines and mechanisms,compliant mechanism and graph theory, this thesis studied the basic transmissionprinciple of compliant micro-transmission mechanism, analyzed and calculated themodules of micro-transmission mechanism, which, as a result, established the basicdesign theory and basic calculation method of micro-transmission mechanism.Based on the classification of function as the core, the classified studies ofcompliant micro-transmission mechanism and their modules was carried out, and theclassification of existing units and the type of mechanism was unified. After theanalyses and comparisons of the abstract modules, the configuration synthesis methodof micro-transmission mechanism with graph theory algorithms was explored, and an approach for classification and configuration synthesis of micro-transmissionmechanism was basically established.According to the classification and configuration synthesis of micro-transmissionmechanism, a configuration parametric design software for micro-transmissionmechanism by using VB to redevelop Pro/ENGINEER based on Automation Gatewaywas explored. Parametric solid models of the eight flexure hinges were established,bringing about the parametric design for units and component and automatic assemblyconfiguration for component and mechanism, which at last simplify the design process.Simulation analysis for micro-transmission mechanism established by theconfiguration parametric design software was studied, which covered the materials andmanufacturing methods of micro-transmission mechanism, the key points andprecautions in WEDM process. Finally, the experimental study was completed based onthe establishment of our experimental facility. The simulation analysis and experimentalresults show that this method is feasible and correct.
