At present, study on new fire suppression technolagy and high-effective extinguishing agent has becoming important fields since the contradiction between fastly developing ecnomics construction and austere fire situation. Water mist technology, which has a lot of advantages: having no environmental pollution, using a little water to suppress a fire fast, can be seen as the main substitute of the former fire extinguishment products, is getting more and more attention. But, normal water mist has a lot of disadvantages under some peculiar fire circumstances. So, developing high-effect water mist fire suppression system has already become one of the most research aspects.A high-pressure water mist fire suppression experimental system which can satisfy test requrements was designed according to water mist standards (NFPA750-2006). Water mist fire suppression experiments were completed with single and composite additives respectively. The result shows that: fire suppression time became shorter with higher pressure and lower nozzle distance; when the proportion of NaCl, surfactant and water was 2:0.4:97.6, the effect is best.A testing device which measure flame ions distribution was designed, and relative experiments were completed. An inductive charging device was designed to charge water mists actively, and fire suppression tests were done with charged water mists. The result indicates that there are effects of electrostatic in the process of fire suppression; positively charged water mist could improve fire suppression performance tremendously. This is meaningful for the further study of new mechanism and system constitute of water mist.
