| Beijing has entered the era of motorization led by private vehicles. Highly-intensive population and the "three-high" problem of cars lead to the shortage of traffic resources, more traffic jams and the growing environmental and energy problems. One of the most effective measures to solve the traffic problems in Beijing is to build the transit city. Bus system has many irreplaceable advantages over other travel modes. Therefore, reasonable planning and construction of bus infrastructure contributes obviously to ease traffic congestion and reduce traffic delay and raise road utilization rate. So this paper studies the problems of optimizing bus stop design and application.Firstly, this paper analyzes the attributes and docking characteristics of bus stops, and briefly describes the basic attributes of various bus stops and the docking behavior of buses, meanwhile, analyzes the affecting factors of the bus dwelling time and stopping safety at bus stops. Then this paper considers the establishment and optimization problems of bus stop from the macro-, meson-, micro-aspects, respectively, which includes analysis of influencing factors of the location and layout of bus stops, the selection of station spacing and setting up factors of station, the number of berths and the station scale. The third, by referring to the traditional bus stop design standards, the paper chooses appropriate delay model to quantify the setting up parameters of station and optimize existing bus stops, based on the side roads of Second Ring Expressway in Beijing.In the end, this paper takes the Xizhimen section of the outer Second Ring Expressway and the South Side Road of Guang’anmen Bridge as case to study. By referring to the existing standards and design model, the paper forms the design scheme, and analyzes the characteristics of bus stop to form the optimized design scheme based on the optimization design model given in this paper. The design scheme according to the standards and the design scheme according to the modeling are compared. According to investigation, the design scheme based on the optimal model contributes obviously to the improvement of road traffic situation which verifies the practicality of the optimal model. |
