Along with the rapid development of economic construction in China, the demand forenergy is growing. Hydropower is the energy with the characteristics of clean, environmentaland economic, and it playing an important role in the industrial and agricultural production.In order to meet the needs of economic development for energy, China is bound to acceleratethe development of hydropower. The earth dam is the most commonly used in waterconservancy dam type and more than95percent of the dams in world are earth-rock dams.The earth dam is the most widely used in the world, it is because that the earth dam has aconvenient selection, foundation requirements, and facilitate the construction and othercharacteristics. In the process of earth dam construction, the handling on the problem of thedam site and the sand foundation bearing reservoir are the prerequisites for the ability to beeffective with the normal power generation.Analysis on the seismic performance of embankment dams should consider the staticequilibrium, dynamic response and the residual deformation of the dam under seismic load,changes in effective stress, pore water pressure development and liquefaction potential andso on. For the dynamic response of embankment dams liquefaction, there are two mainmeans of model tests and numerical simulation methods.In this paper, the author used the FLAC explicit finite difference software to do somestatic and dynamic analysis on Hada Mountain Water Control Project earth dam, simulatedthe liquefaction deformation of earth dams in the earthquake, the law and its characteristics.There are two options for the fields with liquefaction problem, the main content of this paperis as follows:(1) First, the author made a large number of reading on the relevant literature at homeand abroad, on this basis, tested on sand liquefaction damage and liquefaction mechanismand earth dam analysis, the research status of the numerical simulation analysis summary. The author had also introduced the finite difference method, the basic principles andgeotechnical numerical analysis software FLAC program.(2) The author used the numerical analysis software FLAC program on Hada MountainWater Control Project earth dam to make some static, dynamic numerical analysis,numerical simulation and sand liquefaction deformation on Hada Mountain Water ControlProject earth dam to find out the earth dam vibration liquefaction of the weak parts, providea reference for the following to take measures for the eliminate liquefaction;(3) For reinforcing the weak parts of earth dam. This paper provided two reinforcementmethods as dynamic compaction and vibro France, then made the comparative analysis, andultimately determined the optimum reinforcement scheme.
