With the development of economic, people require more and more performance of thevehicle. However, the R&D system of our auto industry is not yet mature and the vehiclechassis design of auto manufacturers are mostly entrusted to foreign technology consultingfirms. The design and matching of the assembly characteristics of the vehicle is still in theexploratory stage.Suspension K&C characters have important effect on vehicle performance, however,the test data of suspension K&C characteristics is huge and complicated. How to analyze thedata, draw the main factors that affect handling and stability and apply the data to thesuspension design, tuning and vehicle matching is the research focus of scholars, and also isthe technical difficulty during the development of our automobile industry.In this paper the author researches abroad suspension K&C experimental measurementparameters, precision and the suspension K&C characteristics evaluation system of theforeign well-known automobile manufacturers and technology consulting firms and providesa reference for the automobile manufacturers to assess the suspension K&Ccharacteristics. At the same time, analyzes the suspension K&C test data of some A-classvehicles by using the suspension K&C Analytical Software of Jilin University, and obtainsthe main range of suspension K&C characteristics changing. Although the data does notreflects the A-class car suspension K&C characteristics fully, but provides a data referenceof the suspension design and tuning for engineers.Suspension K&C characteristics of test data is complex and huge, and also affectsmultiple performance of vehicle. In this paper the author analyzes how the suspension K&Ccharacteristics affect the major performance such as understeer, turned back and the yaw rate gain basing on the handling and stability of vehicle and combining with the test data ofsuspension K&C. So that engineers can generally understand the impact of suspension K&C characteristics on the handling and stability of vehicle.Finally, in order to understand changing suspension K&C parameters to effect thehandling and stability of the vehicle more intuitively, the author uses the ConceptualSuspension Module (referred as the CSM) of multi-body simulation software ADAMS/Carbased on the suspension K&C test data for modeling. The author analyzes the effect ofchanging the suspension K&C parameters to the yaw rate and roll angle in the steeringangle step test, and provides an easy way to analyze the existing suspension K&Ccharacteristics data effect on vehicle handling and stability for engineers...
