| In recent years, national economy has been highly developed, automobileconsumption is becoming more and more popular, children travelling out by car ismore and more general, so the issue of children occupant safety become increasingprominate. According to the relevant statistical data from NHTSA, there were1314children who were under14years old died in the traffic accidents, which accountedfor4%in the total dead. Although adult occupants protection technology has reacheda quite mature stage, even reached intelligent stage, children occupants protectiontechnology is far behind. Because those constraints for adult occupants such as airbagare designed to match adult’s hight,weight and physical tolerance limits, they are notsuitable for children occupants, even cause severe damage when directly used. Undersuch circumstances, carrying out the research of children restraint systems ismeaningful.Lots of research work about child occupant’s safety has been done home andabroad, which includes the following aspects: children restraint system designparameter analysis, relevant laws and regulations, children restraint systemdynamictest method and evaluation method, child injury mechanism, children dummy and thepositioning and installation of the children restraint systems. But the children restraintsystemresearch work under full vehicle crash is relatively seldom.After analysised the accident statical data which involved child passengers, thetypical accident conditions are extracted, and it’s determined to carry out research theCRS under frontal and side impact. With multi body and finite element couplingsimulation technology, the frontal and side impact simulation models has beenset up.In order to carry out vehicle frontal child restraint system simulation research,4types of different CRSs frontal impact models are set up.By loading the typical frontalcollision pulse which stands for the acceleration of the car to thesimulation models,analysis the results like acceleration response of the child dummy and damage value to discuss the performance of different CRSs, the influence of different loading pulseto CRS and the performances of CRS when there is an adult passenger near by under64km/h ODB condition.Based on the Ls-DYNA analysis result of the full vehicle finite model, the sidestructure PSM is extracted, and then side impact simulation models of different ChildRestraint System is built with MADYMO.Through the simulation calculation,protection performance of these different CRS and the influence of differentinstallation position to the CRS are discussed by comparing the child occupantacceleration response and the damage values.The CRS design parameters selection and the matching between CRS and thevehicle have direct influence to the protection performance. In the perspective of theCRS seat and the matching, actual design requirements for child restraint system aremade,which help to guide design and product.This research mainly aims at analysis the child occupant safety under vehicleimpact conditions,which is stricter than the regulatory requirements.It’s more close tothe actual traffic accident. Hope that this research can be a good reference for theoccupant safety research work and the establishment and execution of the childoccupant safety regulation. |
