Power grid as a shared, socialized and complicated, showing a remarkable complicated features network, compared with other existent networks, it’s technology level, economic status and social influence are all in a prominent level. The security of power network so intertwined with production and safety, even ordered national lifeline. So it’s always been top concern. Since extreme phenomena of power outage seem have increased in different area and country during these years, has allowed the Systems Approach (Complex Network Theory) method analyzed the robustness and vulnerability of power grid into the front-end. This means not only enrich the basic theory of complex network systems, but also for the power network analysis into new ideas. This paper based on the knowledge of complex systems and complex network theory, according to the hierarchy process method of’from individual to system’, the author explained the reasons why complex network theory can be applicable to power grid analysis, and give a elaboration to the structural robustness and vulnerability, and offered a further definition to the purposes of research network robustness and vulnerability. Combined the knowledge of Topology Structure and Power System Analysis, summarized the complexity of power grid. Establishing the topology models of IEEE118-node test systems,127-node system of the Northeast Power Grid and302-node system of Central China Power Grid, according to the analysis of the power network topology and the topology modeling principles, then analyzing the characteristics of the above network topologies through PAJEK software and MATLAB, in the light of one fifth principle and strict conceptual distinctions to’fault’ and ’power networks’, and carry on the system simulation under the setting simulation strategy. At the same time obtain network robustness and vulnerability indicators which are the clustering coefficient, average path length, maximum connectivity, Connectivity factor by analyzing the three networks. In the Northeast grid area and central China, the importance of the220KV and500KV voltage level in the system is compared. Assessment indicators will be combined with the robustness and vulnerability of the actual grids again and are proved to be feasible.
