With the development of socio-economic and engineering technology, ship is becoming more and more large-scale and specialization in the maritime transport, so water depth requirement for the pier increase. Traditional pier is difficult to meet the mooring and operational requirement of large ships, the offshore pier gradually reveal the advantages. Being an important form of offshore pier, pile pier is favored for its ease of construction, low cast and adaptability to environment. This paper researches the optimization method of pile pier structure and recommends a method based on SQP method. In traditional, designers rely on their experience and a lot of manual calculation in optimization design. This may make errors; cause the structure not reasonable; increase the project cost and affect the useful life. By using the optimization method, designers can get the optimal solution of structure arrangement, maximize the force performance, and increase the economic benefits of the project. The calculation and design work of pile pier is usually done by general finite software. Although designers can get the exactly force and displacement results of structure, but for the finite software are not professional for pile pier design, problems still exist like modeling-slow, difficult to determine the most unfavorable mooring condition, complex in post treatment. This paper describes a professional pile pier design application program, based on secondary development of ANSYS and use Visual Basic6.0as development tool. This program has friendly interactive interface, focus on the unfavorable factors in traditional design and improve the efficiency and accuracy of the designers.
