Gas wave refrigerator (GWR) is a kind of device which uses expansion wave to refrigerate. It has advantages of high refrigeration efficiency and low speed, it is also suitable for the gas-liquid two phase flow. But traditional Gas Wave Refrigerator has long oscillating tubes to send out more heat, so the device is usually very large and the oscillating tubes break easily. Besides, the condensed liquid is hard to be discharged from the oscillating tube. All of these will influence the normal work of GWR seriously.To solve these problems, this paper introduces Rotary Gas Wave Refrigerator With Closed-ended Connection Oscillating Tube. It uses closed-ended connection tube to replace the traditional straight closed-ended oscillating tube. This paper studies on the performance of Rotary Gas Wave Refrigerator With Closed-ended Connection Oscillating Tube at length from three aspects, the theoretical analysis, the numerical analysis and the experimental research. The main research work and conclusions are summaried as following:(1) On the theoretical analysis, this paper draws the flow wave diagram of closed-ended connection oscillating tube according to the theories of shock wave, expansion wave and the moving law of the contact surface. A new concept—the Gas Natural Frequency in the oscillating tube is introduced for the first time in this paper. It gives the calculation formula and the formula is checked by the experiment data.(2) On the numerical analysis, this paper establishes the numerical model of the Rotary Gas Wave Refrigerator With Closed-ended Connection Oscillating Tube perfectly, researches the traits of gas flow in the closed-ended connection oscillating tube. It analyzes the movement of the contact surface. Finally, the paper researches the thermal effect of the oscillating tube, infers the shock wave disturbance and the time of disturbance decide the heat transfer between the gas and the tube wall.(3) On the experimental research, this paper sets up the platform of the experiment system. Influence of different structural parameters (the tube length and the tube diametre) and different operating parameters (jet flow frequency, expansion ratio and outlet pressure) on the isentropic refrigeration efficiency are studied by experiment. It researches the extreme jet flow frequency of the GWR and analyzes the influence of different structural parameters and different operating parameters on the extreme jet flow frequency. In order to analyze the inner mechanism of the cooling performance of the Rotary Gas Wave Refrigerator With Closed-ended Connection Oscillating Tube, we study the wave in the oscillating tube and the heating effect of the tube wall. We change the structural parameters and the operating parameters and analyze the law of the wave and the heating effect. Through the analysis of the wave and the heating effect changing with the structural parameters and the operating parameters, we can explain the isentropic refrigeration efficiency changing with the structural parameters and the operating parameters effectively.The experimental results show that the highest refrigeration efficiency of the Rotary Gas Wave Refrigerator With Closed-ended Connection Oscillating Tube is58.6%, which increased by more than15%than traditional GWR. So this structure can reduce the size of traditional GWR effectively. Through the heat exchanger, we can discharge the condensed liquid and export the heat simultaneously. It ensures the device can work normally and effectively, save the energy and have a very good application prospect. The results of this paper have a guiding significance to the industrial application and further improvement of the Rotary Gas Wave Refrigerator With Closed-ended Connection Oscillating Tube.
