The performance of battery has a direct impact on the production cost and endurance performance of electric vehicle. In order to improve the efficiency and security of battery as far as possible, the battery management system is designed to monitor and manage the operating condition of battery.Based on the hardware analysis of each functional module among battery management system, this thesis uses RTX51Tiny real-time operating system and Keil uVision4development platform to modularly design the software of information acquisition module, balance management module, charge and discharge management module and battery pack thermal management module.For the estimation of State of Charge (SOC) for battery, the thesis improves Ah counting approach algorithm, and corrects the major factors affecting the value of SOC. The comparison results between actual value of experiment and estimation value indicates that it keeps an excellent precision during estimation process of SOC. The effects of battery working environment for SOC estimation are reduced to a certain extent.
