Energy crisis and environmental pollution are two problems for auto industry to face. Hybrid electric vehicle (HEV), a new generation car of environmental protection and energy efficient, has become a world’s research focus, which has advantages of low fuel consumption and low emissions. While the vehicle energy management and control strategy as the key techniques of HEV, by optimizing the control of the energy distribution of engine and motor, keep the engine working in the high zone, accordingly reducing fuel consumption and emissions, and extending battery life.In this paper, parallel hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is targeted as the main object of research, based on the new mild-HEV, "Wuling CN100", and using MATLAB/SIMULINK to establish vehicle, engine, motor, continuously variable transmission (CVT) and battery mathematical models and so on.Several advantages and disadvantages of energy management control strategy, is analyzed and optimized the design of the original control strategy by using fuzzy neural network control algorithm, which is based on fuzzy control theory and neural network, by analyzing the connection between input variables (accelerator pedal position value and the rate of change, the value of the brake pedal position, vehicle speed and the rate of change, the battery’s remaining power value) and output variables (the engine throttle opening, motor state, and motor throttle), and make sure which mode the car will run, then distributed the energy reasonably, to reduce the fuel consumption of engine and ensure the balance of battery state of charge (SOC) value.Finally, the vehicle and control strategy model which has been established will be embedded in the ADVISOR which is the vehicle simulation software, and simulation. Then compare with the different cycle simulation, the results show that the fuzzy neural network algorithm can improve vehicle fuel economy and ensure the balance of the battery SOC.In summary, to study of PHEV energy management and control strategy theory, the theoretical simulation results have a good effect, but not in depth study of the real development of its vehicle control, the practical applications require further research.
