Nowadays, environmental and energy issues are increasingly widespread attentioned.The loss energy during vehicle braking can be reused and regenerated when the automobileaccretes or starts. Therefore, automobile fuel consumption and exhausted gases can bereduced. By the way, it can benefit the environment and prolong the life of vehicle’s brakingsystem. Therefore, the research on vehicle regenerative braking energy recovery system is ofgreat significance.In this paper ,a certain type of public transport vehicle was treated as a research object,based on the structure of power transmission system of this vehicle, the method of contrastivestudy was adopted to did matching calculations for mechanical drive parameters of the vehicleelectric energy storage regenerative braking system, including the preliminary selection of thekey parts such as the clutch, electrical machine, speed up gears, etc. The main retarderstructure was analysed and researched based on the parameters of the calculation, utilizing themethod of contrastive study to design the position of the optimal connection device, so whichcan transfer the energy to speed up gears, and the device was designed and calculated.According to the design results of the connection device and combined with the method ofcontrastive study , speed up gears was designed that suits the whole system, and make surethat it can recover and utilize the energy to maximize. According to the characteristics ofstucture and feature, utilizing the method of contrastive study,energy conversion device waspreferred which is suitable for the regenerative braking system. Based on the parameters ofthe energy recovery of energy conversion device,a variety of electrical energy storage devicewere analysed and researched, and the most suitable electrical energy storage device wasselected.Finally, based on the design and calculation of parameters of each device ,the twoinstallation with a fixed programs of the regenerative braking system were proposed. Bycontrast of these two programs affected on the regenerative braking system, an optimal program was selected.From each function module, the dissertation demonstrates the overall program designand provides a reference for regenerative braking system engineering.
