The elliptical finned tube evaporative cooler is an efficient and energy saving refrigeration equipment that gets cooling capacity from nature directly, no use of CFCs and no environmental pollution. In the context of our country’s energy saving advocated strongly, it has important practical significance to research on practical structural design of the elliptical finned tube evaporative cooler. The purpose of this paper is to present one kind of a viable structural design of elliptical finned tube evaporative cooler, and to promote the application of the technology in the engineering fields, though the research between the existing theory and experimental data. In this paper the selected finned tube is elliptical fin tube, and coil tube is elliptical tube.In this paper, the elliptical finned tube around the oval-tube cooling coil type is used and put forward a feasible structural design of elliptical finned tube evaporative cooler. Two calculation methods are put forward in the paper, and the two ways are distinguished by whether considering the fin efficiency or not.This paper selects considering the fin efficiency computing method as a specific ways of living example and calculates and gets the inlet temperature of air when closing the spray of the evaporative cooler, that is, at this time only by air cooling manner the cooled fluid in the cooling coil can be cooled to the required temperature. The inlet temperature of air is the temperature of the air boundary.On the basis of the heat and moisture exchange theory, after reasonable assumptions, building mathematical model and based on specific examples, this subject designed out spray evaporative cooler and got the boundary temperature, at the same time, got the effect regularities that various factors (including evaporative coolers structural parameters, operating parameters) effect the evaporative cooler cooling performance. It provides a meaningful reference for manufacturers and users to choose the selection of equipment and parameters.
