At present, masonry structure is widespread in China, especially in the west regions and the less developed regions of China. In the past two decades year, seismic damage analysis and investigations revealed that the overall performance of masonry structures and the seismic performance are worried because of various reasons. Through the investigation of earthquake disaster and the study found that the wall connection damage is a common failure mode among the various failure modes. In normal circumstances, localized damage will accelerate the damage of the whole model. In the context of the earthquake disasters, we carried out a study on the wall connection performance of masonry structure. In this paper, we establish three finite element models based on engineering background by ABAQUS and they are finite element model of unreinforced masonry structure and finite element model of reinforced masonry structure. We discussed the details of the finite element model for masonry structures, including the constitutive relation, simulation mode and so on. At the same time, we have explored series of problems in masonry structures and explore some useful results by ABAQUS.In this article, we analyzed the performance of the wall connection about masonry structures by finite element models of unreinforced masonry and ABAQUS, and we analyze the reasons for the wall connection damage about unreinforced masonry structures and summarize the corresponding countermeasures. We analyzed the connection performance of reinforced masonry and comparative analysis of the corresponding by ABAQUS. Through analysis and research, we deeply understand and summarize some characteristics and laws on the masonry wall connections, such as stress variation, wall connection failure modes and so on.
