The reinforced concrete durability research mainly focus on the concrete carbonation, steel corrosion mechanism and the bearing capacity of member section, the change of the corroded reinforced concrete beam failure mode which is the result of durability degradation is less be reported. Corrosion of the steel in reinforced concrete was the main factor to the beam bearing capacity decline, the difference of the stirrup corrosion rate and the longitudinal bars corrosion rate would lead to the reinforced concrete beam failure mode change, the brittle shear failure may occur in front of the ductile flexural failure, which cause the reinforced concrete beams have a without warning failure, the condition threaten the safety of people’s life. Therefore, it is very meaningful to research the corrosion reinforced concrete beam failure mode change which corrosion cause. This paper is the Project (50925829) Supported by National Natural Science Foundation of China, the paper mainly study on the following several aspects.1) The paper summarized the current mechanical property degradation model to the corrosion steel, a choice of corroded steel constitutive relationship is applied to the reinforced concrete beam bending resistance and shear stress resistance calculation formula.2) The paper compared the corroded reinforced concrete beam bending resistance calculation formula, according to the actual problem, the paper suggest a reasonable calculation formula.3) At present, the corroded reinforced concrete beam shear stress resistance is quite few be researched, this paper presented a resisting shear calculation formula which is clear physical concept and combined with the current code for design of concrete structures.4) The above conclusions drawn a diagram of the corroded reinforced concrete beam bending resistance and shear resistance, the designer easily got the information to know that the beam failure mode will whether change in it’s design year.
