Reservoir operation is a main event for the whole basin ecosystem, especially the downstream ecosystem. In order to pursuit the most interest of socio-economy,people pay more attention to making use of the reservoir in flood control, power generation, water supply, irrigation, shipping, and so consider less of the ecological and environmental protection for the lower reaches. As ecological environment of our country went more and more deteriorating, there is a great of practical significance to improve ecological environment, sustain ecosystem function and maintain human health in researching reservoir operation model facing for the ecological and environmental protection.Firstly, this paper summarizes the history and current situation of the reservoir operating optimization techniques and the reservoir operation facing for ecological water demand at home and abroad, proposing current problems and difficulties and put forward the ideas and contents of this study. Secondly, through four aspects, this paper analyses the impact of reservoir construction and operating on river ecosystem, and studies the response of river ecosystem. Thirdly, this paper makes a succinct summary of the basic situation of the studying area and analyses the characteristics of the upriver runoff, providing necessary data for establishing the "reservoir operation model of stochastically dynamic programming facing for ecological water demand"; Fourthly, this paper introduces the basic theories and the statistics and analysis methods of runoff data for establishing the model; Fifthly, taking the Yanshan Reservoir as an example, establishes the "reservoir operation model of stochastically dynamic programming facing for ecological water demand", describes the methods for solving this model, draw the operation chart to guide the day-to-day eco-operating work; Finally, this paper summarizes the full text of the research achievement, and demonstrates the focus of the next study step.
