Along With the west of China greatly exploiting, a mass of tunnels for highway,railway, and water projects have been constructed. It is inevitable for tunnels to beconstructed across active fault or in high earthquake intensity regions. The study on seismic response of underground structures is of great economic and social significance. At present, the forms and conditions of mountain tunnels are various,and the study on the law of the dynamic response of mountain tunnels under various conditions are not comprehensive and in-depth enough.First, the great data of the earthquake disaster for the tunnel and underground structure in home and abroad are analyzed. The summarizing the mode of failure,the influence factors and failure mechanism is conducted for the disaster occurred inthe mountain tunnels. Then, the paper introduces the theoretical computer methods for the dynamic response of the tunnel and the underground structure. With the software FLAC3D, the detail researches are carried out for the seismic response of the mountain tunnel body along with the buried depth, earthquake intensity, adjoining rock grade and lining rigidity. The results indicate that the mountain tunnel body often owns fairly high degree of safety during earthquake. So, aiming at the normal entrance to the tunnels, the authors turn to give detailed and profound researches for the effect of the dynamic response.The main contents of this paper are as follows:(1) Numerical simulations of two different cross-section tunnels in different conditions of the country rock and different buried depth are done, the law of theimpact of the factors on the dynamic response of mountain tunnels is analyzed and summarized.(2) Current antiseismic measure of tunnels are analyzed and summarized, the characteristics and the roles of the methods are obtained, the appropriate and feasible measures to improve the safety of the tunnels in earthquakes are explored, with a view of the actual works reference.
