The abutment is located on both ends of the bridge and road embankment inconnection with the bridge road connecting installations. It has both the characteristicof structure bridge pier and retaining structure characteristics, so not only should bearthe bridge abutment upper structure of the vertical load, but also against the back ofthe filled soil lateral earth pressure, on the stability of roadbed, filling and make thebridge lines and bridge circuit reliable and steady connection role. Due to the specialstructure of the abutment, it make the abutment more diseases, especially in soft soilarea, there are more serious diseases abutment.This paper analyzed the profound reason about abutment disease, think of thefilled soil pressure distribution and deformation of the soft soil foundationcharacteristic to the stress of the abutment influence has been the main factors ofstructure deformation stability, so this paper analyzed the earth pressure calculationtheory, such as the coulomb’s earth pressure theory, the cohesive force and horizontallayer analysis theory, compared the application condition and advantages anddisadvantages. Influence of soft soil area of the abutment pressure distribution of soilsize and main factors.Then, this paper analyzed the soft soil foundation, summary of soft ground ofthe main reason for the lateral displacement and deformation characteristics of thelateral displacement, and discussed the soft soil foundation of lateral displacement offoundation, summarized the calculation of the force of additional levels anddistribution form in this paper.Based on the analysis of the soil retaining structure of general displacement, thispaper gives two kinds of the abutment mode with the characteristics of its owndisplacement according to the soft soil foundation soil characteristics and lateral soilalong the depth distribution characteristics. If the soil is uniform, soil lateral forcealong the depth and lateral abutment is a linear displacement distribution, the modelof the abutment were around the bottom for a point O clockwise RBT displacementmodel. Otherwise, if the soil lateral force and lateral displacement mainly have in certain depth below the surface area, the abutment displacement model were aroundthe top for the abutment a point O counterclockwise rotation of the RTT displacementmode.In this paper, using the numerical simulation method, through the abutmentconstruction process of numerical simulation analysis shows that the abutment lateraldeformation of the pile foundation of and mainly in filling stage, the filling causedthe abutment is the main reason about the lateral deformation of the pile foundation.In addition, this paper also analyzed the normal use of the abutment stages andanalyzed by slabs of lateral soil pressure and influence. The results show that theplate abated vehicle load to the influence of the lateral abutment, and changed vehicleload in the role of the size of the filled soil and the way. Moreover, the simulationresults also show that the normal use phase of foundation soil lateral and settlementfar less than the construction process of lateral and settlement, this also show that thecontrol work as the main technical indexes settlement after is reasonable in thecurrent highway bridge design specification.At last, this paper summarized the work form of the mutual coordination andinteraction of relationship in the abutment, piles and foundation soil. The softfoundation soil occurred the uneven settlement and lateral deformation under theeffect of load in the back of the filled soil, it produced the negative friction andadditional levels force for the pile foundation on the adjacent of the abutment, then itlead to produce the lateral deformation of pile foundation and happened unevensettlement and lateral of the abutment, meanwhile in the uneven settlement process ofthe abutment, it will be counterproductive to the filling in the soil. The whole systemin constant coordination and mutual influence meet the new balance or one of thesystem was out of work and occurred abutment diseases.The conclusion of this paper not only explained the causes of the abutmentdiseases in soft soil area, but also deepened to understand the mechanism of abutmentsoil pressure in the soft soil foundation. It has practical significance to ensure theabutment design and construction of safety and economy.
