At present, the power generation technology of solar wind collection systemhas been concerned by many people that they are related businesses and thescientific personnel worked on new energy field in international and domestic. Inthis paper, by analyzing the conversion of internal energy of solar windcollection power system, and this system is more suitable for the Chinesewestern region where the sparsely populated, the wasteland is relatively broadand the mountain height difference is huge. So it has great potential ofapplication that the system is set in western China. The solar radiation of theLhasa City was analyzed in this study to construct a simple physical, and thennumerical simulation method is used to study the system in order to analysis theflow characteristic of thermal current of solar wind collection power system. Theconclusion obtained will give a reference foundation in further research of solarwind collection power system.At first, it is obtained that our country in west is very suitable for solar windcollection power system by analyzing the situation solar radiation of Chinesewestern regional. By analyzing the conversion of internal energy of this system,and the factors that affect the flow characteristic of thermal current within thesystem, a simple physical model wad established under this situation.Secondly, with detailed researching the Computational fluid dynamicsmethod and numerical heat transfer theory, and according to the three equationsin heat transfer process, the reasonable numerical value equation of solar windcollection power system was then established under the certain assumptions.Then the numerical solution of the equations was analyzed.To simulation the flow of thermal current within solar wind collectionpower system, the computational fluid dynamics software-FLUENT was used.The realistic situation of the solar radiation was simulated by loading theradiation model and DO (Discrete Ordinates Radiation) model. Temperature, pressure, velocity and pathline distribution within the system were obtained.Finally, there is a new model that with the condition that the other structuralparameters remain unchanged; only the linkage geometry of joint between thewind tower and chimney was changed. It is found that the flow velocity ofthermal current increased within the improved model, and the change oftemperature and pressure also is gentle though simulating. Thus, the conclusionthat some flow characteristic of the thermal current, such as velocity,acceleration and the energy loss of the system, are related to the surfaces shapeof wind collection tower of solar wind collection power system. At same time, itprovides a theoretical basis for future research in this area.
