Solar cell is a new type photoelectric device, by which the clean energy-solar energy can be used. Theresearch on the materials about the solar cell is always the hot subject to many photovoltaic researchers. The research on the window layer materials of the solar cell is one of the subjects focused. The commonmaterials of the solar cell window layer are a-Si: H, a-SiC: H, a-SiO: H, μc-Si: H, μc-SiC: H, etc. Whenthey are used in silicon thin film solar cell, in some ways, such as optical band gap, transmittance, electricconductivity, there are still more or less shortages. In the past30years, nanometer material as a new type two phases structure material has graduallyattracted the eyes of researchers. In recent years, the advantages of nanometer silicon thin film, such asbroadband gap, high through rate, high electric conductivity, have been proved. Its application research onsolar cells is also gradually carried on.Nanometer silicon thin film has been studied as the solar cellintrinsic layer, but there are few reports that it is used as the window layer of the solar cells. In this paper,we deposited a series of nanometer silicon thin films, and its structure and photoelectric performance wereanalyzed. Several aspects are included.1. A series of nanometer silicon thin films were deposited by setting the parameters the device usingpulse laser deposition system.2. The size of the grain and the crystalline volume fraction of the films were calculated by the analysisof the Raman spectra, XRD spectra of samples.3. The formation cause of the nanometer silicon thin films were analyzed according to the depositionprinciple of PLD system. 4. The absorbency and the optical band gap of the films under the different preparation conditionswere calculated according to the transmission spectra.5. The morphology of the samples was tested to prove its nano-structure using scanning electronmicroscope and scanning probe microscopy.6. The photoelectric performances of the samples were tested using the semiconductor characteristicsmeasuring system and Hall effect measurement system.7. The best conditions depositing the nanometer silicon films as the window layer of the solar cellswas found according to the requirements to the window layer of the solar cells and the analysis to theexperiment data.
