Architectural design has been formed in the context of globalization today. People’s aesthetic visioncontinue to expand, the architectural aesthetic cultural mechanisms to accelerate the differentiation andintegration. Design activities, globalization does not mean the same design style or ethnic style of theimpasse. In the context of popular culture and popular commercial culture, commercial buildings designedto usher in the era of a symbiosis, many countries have long to seriously reflect on the traditional nationalhistory and culture in building design, try from the national character aesthetic point of view and theregional characteristics, cut, absorb nutrients from the long river of history and culture, explore the sourceof the national art, aesthetics, and strengthen national identity.Depth of Chinese culture has a long history, and very far-reaching implications for other parts of theworld. Kaifeng, the Yellow River is located in the cradle of history and culture of the Chinese nation so far,more than2,700years of history, one of the birthplaces of the Chinese nation. Rich rich cultural relics, theancient city, embodies the ancient city of long history, tradition and rich cultural connotations. Buildingbetter reflect the characteristics of Chinese culture in Kaifeng, a history deeply rooted in the region, topreserve the historical style, but without losing the characteristics of the times, should be present, our focusof attention. Chinese elements as the outward manifestation of the spirit of Chinese culture, its use incommercial building design of the Kaifeng area is the focus of this article.The full text is divided into six chapters, the first chapter described the research background, purposeand significance of the current status quo of the domestic and international research and study methodsused. Chapter II discusses the emerging concept of the Chinese elements of meaning and the basis for thedevelopment, combined with the meaning and function of the basic spirit of Chinese culture, sum up theChinese elements have three basic characteristics and further discussion of the relationship betweenelements and architectural design in China. Do a brief review of the third period of modern times in thefocus on the use of architectural design elements, to tease out some common characteristics, furtherdemonstrated the relationship between elements and architectural design a long time. And whenever thehistorical period of rapid economic development, greatly enhance the sense of national pride will cause thepeople for traditional cultural and ethnic forms of pursuit. Element as the return of a national culture is amanifestation of this demand of the people. The fourth chapter deals with the cultural and historical background of the Kaifeng area, the geographical environment, our economy and the pace of development,and contemporary culture of the commercial buildings. Chapter through a survey with an example, cited theuse of Chinese elements in the the Kaifeng commercial building, and for the building of the same kind ofChinese elements were analyzed and found that their use changes at different times. Analyzed andsummarized the inadequacies of the Kaifeng area elements are used in commercial buildings. For lack of aneed to pay attention to the following principles in the use of Chinese elements in Kaifeng, thensummarized the three use practices of the Chinese element in modern architecture combined with the use ofChinese elements in a wider range of building types nationwide. Chinese elements designed to make betterheritage in Kaifeng, the ancient square of land, combined with the modern architectural design trends andhistorical development required to complete the final transcendence of the younger element of this ancientand Chinese elements in the architectural design areas to flourish. The sixth chapter analyzes the use ofChinese elements in the sundries shop street design and suggest improvements.
