Research On The Metheod Of Remodeling And Renewal Of Old Industrial Buildings

The topic of this thesis belongs to the research of some specific building category in the field of old building reuse. The subjects of interest are the old industrial buildings. The purpose is to find a continuously evaluative way for old industrial building reuse under the situation of China.At present, the speed and scale of urbanization in China is getting faster and faster and industrial restructuring has been speed up. The large number of factories began to migrate to the new industrial area; the function of industrial land has changed. These cause a large amount of areas occupied by old industrial buildings.Compared with the other ordinary civil buildings, old industrial buildings have their own distinctive characteristics, such as:industrial buildings usually have a sturdy structure, open and flexible space, light and breezy external image and good location. Remodeling and renewal of old industrial buildings is an important part of the old buildings reuse system. Research on the method of remodeling and renewal of old industrial buildings has its important theoretical and practical significance.This thesis provide a systematic analysis and discussion of the problem emerged from the china’s old industrial buildings reuse. It reviewed the history of the old industry buildings reuse. By contrast the old industry buildings reuse situation, the paper summed up the problems and shortcomings of China’s old industry buildings reuse work, and summarize the basic principles of remodeling and renewal of old industrial buildings. In combination with a large number of instances in domestic and international, the thesis introduced the design methods and techniques of remodeling and renewal of old industrial buildings. Finally, the paper summarized all the theories and design methods with a personal case design practice.
