Hybrid girder cable-stayed bridge is widely accepted for its unique mechanical properties and structural characteristics.steel-concrete joint section cannot transmit the load continuously because of the diffirence between the configuration and material used.Consequently, it should be considered carefully and comprehensively because they will fail first.In this way, it’s necessary to study the force transmission mechannism of steel-concrete joint section.Taken the Edong Changjiang River Highway Bridge as the background, this paper study the force transmission mechanism of steel-concrete joint section with the help of the finite element software of ANSYS.The main achievements of this paper are shown as following:1.Taken material nonlinearity into consideration, after analyzing of steel-concrete joint section of the Edong Changjiang River Highway Bridge with the help of ANSYS, the variations of those segments of steel and concrete which are belong to steel-concrete joint section are drawn by the analys results, the force characteristics of shear connectors and the roles of force transmiss components which are drawn by the analysis results.It can be drawn which are including on steel-concrete joint section did well in force transmission and bearing plate and PBL played a major role in the process of passing the axial force.2. Considering the material nonlinearity, using ANSYS to do the finite element analysis about the front beating plate, the front and rear bearing plate steel-concrete joint section.The axial force transfer law of different structural form and the roles of force transmission components can be drawn by the analysis results.Front bearing plate trsnsfer smaller axial force than rear bearing plate.3. Considering the material nonlinearity, using stud welding and PBL to connect steel and concrete, using ANSYS to do the finite element analysis about the local compartment which is in the lower edge of steel-concrete joint section, the variations of those segments of steel and concrete which are belong to local compartment are drawn by the analys results, the roles of force transmiss components which are drawn by the analysis results, steel components of local compartment beared the ratios of the axial force. The local compartment did well in force transmission, bearing plate transfered the biggest axial force. reduce the number of stud welding in the local compartment model and found that reduce stud welding has little effection on transmission mechanism of local compartment.
