Locomotive as the train’s traction equipment, it is particularly important to grasp the device status. The running gear includes the structure and movement, and the practical application of the moving parts failure accounts for the majority of the running gear failure. The main features of sports pieces of early failure of performance, abnormal temperature, abnormal mechanical parameters, abnormal sound, changes in the geometric parameters of aspects. The temperature monitoring can’t cover all the faults. In the last20years the mechanical parameters monitoring methods is increased.Mechanical parameters monitoring includes vibration monitoring and speed monitoring, and vibration monitoring is for bearing condition monitoring. The resonance demodulation technique, which has a good effect in the extract bearing fault characteristic impact, is prone to false positives and false negatives sometimes.This paper begins with the analysis of the outer ring of the rolling bearing, inner ring, roller element surface in a single point of failure damage and theoretical models. The locomotive rolling bearing fault vibration frequency and the characteristic harmonics is from the locomotive running speed of the bearing, part size and transmission. Then the pulse harmonic theory which is based on harmonic analysis and Laplace wavelet can carry out the extraction cycle fault signal of the shock pulse characteristic harmonic. On the design of the hardware platform, the analog signal acquisition circuit using band-pass filter screens sensor resonant signal. A high-pass filter suppresses low frequency interference and passes the high frequency signal. The absolute value detection circuit and low pass filter on frequency resonant signal carry out envelope demodulation. The FPGA minimum operation system is designed to achieve the rapid signal cycle related calculation and fault diagnosisThe locomotive bearing vibration data from SS35193and5185in Chengdu North Depot, is researched on the validation and feasibility of the pulse harmonic theory.
