The bridge, as well as the key facility in highway and railway traffic system, is the vital element of transportation lifeline. The earthquake is one of the devastating natural disasters that always cause tremendous damage to humanity. A lot of bridges are destroyed during the violent earthquakes, which not only directly caused economic losses, but also greatly affected earthquake relief work and the production resumption. In this thesis, on the basis of the study achievements at home and abroad, take the Caiyuanba Changjiang River as example, the long-span tied-arch bridge’earthquake response were studied as follows:1、The study of analysis approach of earthquake response.Several analysis methods used to calculate the earthquake response of bridges, such as the time-history approach, the response spectrum approach, random vibration approach, are introduced and discussed.2、Responsible formulations were used to describe the bridges’dynamic actions and appropriate method was chosen to solve these problems on the basis of foregoing researches.3、Using response spectrum and time-history analysis to analyse the Caiyuanba Changjiang River.Structural seismic responses that seismic wave was inputted from vertical direction were discussed. Internal forces and displacements of structural crucial sections were compared. Some beneficial conclusions were gained.4、According to calculation results of time-history analysis and response spectrum analysis, the big span arch bridge seismic response characteristics is summarized in this book.
