Vehicle speed and vehicle spacing are two important parameters that signify the state of the running vehicle. Recently the ever increasing vehicle speed and vehicle load have come to be one major cause for bridge damage. This article take Jiu-jiang Yangtze River as an example, to analyze the impact effects produced by the vehicle load on this bridge. This text established the finite element model with the application of the software ANSYS. Mainly have finished the following works:(1) Establish the finite element model of Jiujiang Yangtze River bridge with the application of the software ANSYS.(2)Simulate the impact effects from the vehicle speed and vehicle spacing to the bridge, by the method of investigating the traffic on the bridge as well as its composition.(3) Find a reasonable range of the vehicle speed and vehicle spacing where there could be minimum impact effects and deflection.By studying the effects of vehicle load upon the bridge deflection and impact, this article finds out the relation between vehicle running state and bridge damage. Thus this work will have significance both in theoretical and practical aspects for improving the distribution of the vehicle load and moreover, to achieve effective control on the bridge traffic. This will ultimately make it safer for bridge traffic and also make the bridge more durable. In one word, this article provides theoretical foundations for the bridge damage caused by vehicle load and the techniques of visual control of the vehicle running state, and therefore could be a valuable reference for bridge management and maintenance departments.
