With the rapid development of China’s railway industry, sector of railway has introduced a large number of modern equipment. For this reason, a higher and more stringent demand on railway workers’ professional skills and quality has been put forward. Moreover, since China’s railway wide distribution, the workers station at various stations, which made information exchange between all stations and railway bureaus and training of worker have a limitation. Under that situation, traditional method can’t meet the existing needs. A teaching system adapt to the current situation of railway need to be established to complete training of railway staff. Railway training exercise system based on virtual reality technology, known as VR-T (Virtual Reality-Train) railway training exercise system is presented. With virtual reality technology, the railway signal equipment can be simulated. And training of the first-line workers is completed. For the stable operation of the system, an efficient, reliable and secure network platform needs to be established among all stations in each railway bureau.To meet the need of validity and safety of VR-T railway training exercise system, a new P2P-VPN (Peer to Peer-Virtual Private Network) based network framework was given. P2P-VPN network framework is a new kind of network framework which combines P2P (Peer to Peer) search mechanism and VPN (Virtual Private Network) networking technology. Premised upon realization of VPN technology, P2P-VPN network framework strengthens and improves the existing VPN technology by using P2P searching mechanisms. And the VR-T railway training exercise system using P2P-VPN network framework has both feature of P2P and VPN. Using the Dijkstra algorithm, data between the computer equipments in the railway bureau or station is transferred in optimal path. By VPN encryption, the secure access of VR-T railway training exercise system is realized easily. And using P2P search mechanisms, communication in the net work become more direct, more speed and more easy to meet the needs of the users. At the same time, management subsystem design, client subsystem design and system-specific browser of VR-T railway training exercise system are given. After that, P2P-VPN network configuration is completed in each subsystem.The test of VR-T railway training exercise system at Xi’an railway bureau electrical supply proved that with P2P-VPN network framework, it can operate stably under a complex network environment. To solve the problem of network authentication reflected in the test, the direction of improvement, applying the certificate proof to the P2P-VPN network Framework, is pointed out, which can make the network authentication more robust.
