With economic development, large-scale complex structures continue to emerge, damageidentification and health monitoring of these structures has been paid more and more attention.Damage identification based on dynamic characteristics identify structure damage rely onmodal parameter identification techniques and the correct finite element model, comparedwith the dynamic characteristics of damaged and undamaged structure. Based on the signal ofsteel-pipe arch bridge cellected by the wireless sensor network, this paper research modalparameter identification and finite element dynamic model updating. The Main work andresearch are as follows:1、Domestic and intemational researeh situation in the field of modal parameteridentification and model updating is reviewed. Methods of modal parameter identificationbased on ambient excitation and finite element model updating are simply introduced, and thetheories of some methods are stated.2、Imote2wireless sensor network is used to sample the signal of the steel-pipe archbridge, and the signal will be preprocessed and identified by Peak-Picking and NEXT/ERAprogram programed by Matlab. Then the results are compared with the one of finite element.3、The author programed a Matlab-Ansys model updating program, and the basic prccessof the program is introduced. Some key points involved in the program are discussed, such ascorrelative analysis of model, condition number of sensitivity matrix, the selection of theupdating parameters and target parameters, structure of error functions, etc., and solutions forthese problems is proposed.4、To verify the the effectiveness of program and compare effect of updating amongdifferent mothods, some numerical examples of a arch bridge is computed. Based on theseexamples, the model of the Large-Dams steel-pipe arch bridge is updating byfrequency+MAC.
