With the increasing of energy consumption globally, energy-saving technology is oneof the key in the field of scientific research. Power electronic technology, including powertechnology and motion control technology, is an important means of energy savingtechnology. Accounting for the highest proportion of the power consumption, motioncontrol system is the research focus. Vector frequency conversion technology is used inmotion control system generally. There are obvious drawbacks for traditional inverter. Incontract, dual-PWM converter is a four-quadrant inverter, with high power factor andelectric power feedback, especially suitable to application fields where motor to run positiveand negative frequently, such as pumping unit and electrical elevator, etc.Mathematical model under the synchronization reference frame and control strategy ofdual-PWM converter, including PWM rectifier and PMSM inverter, are studied in this paper.Adopt dual-loop direct current control strategy for PWM rectifier and I d0rotor fieldorientation vector control strategy for PMSM inverter. The simulation model of dual-PWMconverter created by means of Matlab/Simulink software verifies feasibility of these controlstrategies. This simulation experiment is instructive on hardware and software design andexperimental debugging.The control circuit of dual-PWM converter experimental platform is created based onDSP and CPLD, and the main circuit is based on IPM. And control software is designed forexperiment. There are three experiments done in this paper, including PWM rectifier drivinga resistive load, energy feedback experiment, and dual-PWM converter driving PMSM. Theexperiment results show that the dual-PWM converter could effectively restrain theharmonic pollution with sinusoidal input currents, perform at the unity power factor andimprove power quality. These experiments are helpful for system optimization in the next.
