Compared with the flat-slab floor and the waffle floor the cast-in-situ Reinforcedconcrete hollow slab floor system is a new style of floor system. It adapts to thedemands for the floor system of this age.The chief property of this technology is thatthis kind of floor system belongs to the hollow reinforced concrete in which a numberof prefabricated permanent high strength thin-wall core boxes are laid. The weight ofthis floor is small and the span of this floor is large. It can suit multilayer or tallbuildings with big column gridding or big spaces. It can offer users flexible spaceseconomically, because compared with other floors the deformation of the hollow castslab has the advantages of lightening selt-weight,strengthening floor slabrigidity, shorten construction duration, improving sound insulation and reducingstructure cost.So this new style of floor system will be spread in the future. The article mainly fulfilled the following tasks:(1) The article first introduced the conception of reinforced concrete floor and itscategory, summarized the types of cast-in-site concrete hollow floor and analyzed itsapplication and development status both domestically and abroad.(2) The types and materials of cast-in-site concrete hollow floor cavity wereintroduced, and the applications of different types of hollow floor were compared.(3) By analyzing present codes and characteristics of the hollow floor, its applicableheight and seismic level were studied.(4) The present calculation method of hollow floor was elaborated using a particularengineering case. The designing procedures were summarized.(5) Finally, the economic analysis of a particular instance was made to point out theeconomic advantage of hollow floor, as well as its future prospect.
