With Phasor Measurement Unit (PMU) of synchronized phasor measurementtechnique having widely used in the power system, the operating status of thewide-area grid line simultaneous measurement can be achieved online, whichprovides a new approach for the stability of the system line voltage and method. Thefirst wide area measurement system (WAMS), and its application prospects in thepower system are discussed; followed by the definition and classification of voltagestability. Voltage stability of static and dynamic analysis methods are summarized, and given the corresponding commentary through in-depth analysis of the mechanismof voltage collapse, with a deep understanding of the dynamic mechanism of voltageinstability or voltage collapse analysis. On this basis, the main voltage stability indexbased on WAMS are simulated and compared through the IEEE example model, thatthe impedance mode index can reflex the changes of system voltage stability. In thispaper, the equivalent model based on the amount of local synchronized phasormeasurements has been improved, reducing the calculation error of the model, theequivalent model more accurate, reducing the value of the voltage stability index, andextended to considering load static characteristics of the system voltage stability.Based on an on-line voltage stability index (LV SI) and improved impedance modelindex mutual authentication through IEEE model, improved voltage stabilityindicators for the simulation that can reflex the changes of system voltage stability, and the physical concept of indicators is clear, the algorithm is simple, small amountof calculation, the power system voltage stability real-time monitoring of veryimportant significance.
