With the rapid development of national economy, high-rise buildings, extremely those of taller and more complicated in size, become more and more popular. The light self weight, large flexibility and small damping of these high-rise buildings make it very sensitive to wind load. Therefore, for the sake of safety, comfortableness and economics, it has important theoretical significance and practical value to study the wind-induced response of high-rise buildings. Research works on wind pressure distribution characteristics and wind-induced response of high-rise buildings are conducted as follows:Firstly, wind pressure coefficients on building surfaces which vary with wind direction are analyzed based on pressure measurements in wind tunnel tests. The comparative analysis of wind pressure distribution characteristics of single structure and in real environment is made. Coherence of wind pressure on building surface is discussed by calculating correlation coefficient of wind pressures. It is useful to investigate the coherence of wind pressure on different points. Based on the coherence function of fluctuating wind pressures obtained load obtaining from the least square method, lateral and vertical coherences of wind loads are analyzed.Secondly, three methods including GLF method which presented by Davenport, GBJ method and analytical method of wind-induced response in frequency domain are introduced. The equivalent static wind loads are calculated respectively according to Chinese Code, Japanese Code and ISO Standard. Base shears and base moments are determined by the analysis of wind tunnel test data according to random vibration theory. And the comparative analysis of the test results and Code calculation results is made. Finally, base moment coefficients and base generalized load spectra of tall buildings are analyzed by force balance test of models taking into account the effects of section, width-thickness ratio and slenderness ratio. The accelerations on the top of the models which vary with wind direction and the equivalent static wind loads are calculated based on random vibration theory. Considering the maximum responses of the structures under various damping ratio and return period, the comparative analysis of the test results and calculation results is made.
