Hybrid fiber reinforced ferrocement is an innovative composite which containsthe advantages of fiber reinforced cement composites and ferrocement composites.Compared with ordinary cement composites, hybrid fiber reinforced ferrocementcomposite exhibits better tensile properties, better bending properties and bettertoughness. However, In China the technology of hybrid fiber reinforced ferrocementcomposites is not very mature, and also lack more complete systems theory. Thedirect tensile and four-point bending behaviour of the steel-polypropylene hybrid fiberreinforced ferrocement mortar were tested in the paper, and the following works hadbeen completed:1、In the steel-polypropylene hybrid fiber reinforced ferrocement mortar, thesteel wire mesh、fiber and cement matrix’s mechanism of action were describeddetailedly, and it determined the steel-polypropylene hybrid fiber reinforcedferrocement mortar mix ratios by satisfying good mechanical of the specimens andfacilitate the production for the specimens.2、The steel-polypropylene hybrid fiber reinforced ferrocement mortar specimenstook the direct tensile test, it obtained the load-displacement curve, analyzed testresults of different mix ratios specimens, then got the stress-strain curve model.Experimental results showed that, steel wire mesh、steel fiber and polypropylene fiberof the three could be a good compound together with good tensile properties andtoughness.3、The steel-polypropylene hybrid fiber reinforced ferrocement mortar specimenstook the four-point bending test, it obtained the load-deflection curve. ThroughASTM-C1018toughness indexes analysis and results contrast analysis, Thesteel-polypropylene hybrid fiber reinforced ferrocement mortar specimen, which themix ratio is MGS1.02, had best effect of the bending properties and toughness.4、Doing theoretical analysis of the bending properties of hybrid fiber reinforcedferrocement mortar, analysing its bearing capacity of state in three different stages,obtaining its cracking bending moment、ultimate bending moment and modulus ofrupture. Compared with the steel-polypropylene hybrid fiber reinforced ferrocementmortar’s four-point bending test results, it showed that the test results were than thetheoretical results.
