10kV High voltage switchboard is the most immediate equipment to supply power for customers. The operation reliability directly related to the power supply reliability and quality. In the long run, High voltage switchgear was influenced by electrical, thermal, chemical and abnormal conditions of the formation of insulation deterioration, easily lead to reduced strength of electrical insulation, and even failure. Practice shows that:Partial discharge is the cause that equipment insulation deterioration occurred mainly due to insulation failure. Partial discharge monitoring and evaluation of insulation condition monitoring equipment has become an important means to live more directly reflect the detection of partial discharge within the insulation condition of electrical equipment, and can be found timely and effective insulation defects in equipment to reduce unnecessary power failure power operation of the load losses and security risks, prevent accidents caused by power users to improve power supply reliability has important practical value and practical significance.Based on the analysis and summary of progress on the basis proposed for the evaluation of10kV switchgear, insulating state to the transient voltage and ultrasonic test and UHF methods. Theoretically analyzed the phenomena of the radiation, propagation and reception of the partial discharge UHF signals, then studied the propagation characteristics of PD UHF signals in switch cabinet by simulation with Finite Differential Method of Time Domain (FDTD).Build up the real10kV High voltage switch board test platform for simulation by four defects, using a variety of detect methods for partial discharge detection and data analysis, research some related characteristics and regularity of test method. This paper has verified the effectiveness sensibility of various methods in electric detection and provided a important theoretical basis of high voltage switchgear electric detection.
