As the energy and environment problem is increasingly serious, the renewable energy is fast developed in different countries of the world. Solar power, with the advantages of cleanness and big reserve, has gained much popularity. Among all kinds of exploitation of solar power, photovoltaic power generation (PV) enjoys particular attention. With the reducing price of PV components and constant development of Electric&Electronic technology, the PV’s efficiency is getting improved and the size of the PV facility is getting smaller, which bring new requirements to the design and manufacture of generation equipments.This paper, starting from studying the maximum output efficiency, studies the power change in PV system, and discusses the tracking technology of Photovoltaic Array’s Maximum Power Point(MPP) which is one of the crucial technology in PV power generation. With the analysis of working principle and output features of PV batteries, the paper discusses several MPPT algorithms based on DC/DC and their applicable areas as well as their advantages and disadvantages. It also analyzes the application of Perturbation and Observation Method in MPPT which enables the PV batteries to work at MPP with Maximum Power Output(MPO). The paper finally makes an comparison between PV batteries with MPPT blocks and those without MPPT blocks through simulation of the two systems. The result show that, the method can track the changes of the external weather, the photovoltaic grid system can run in maximum power point with good dynamic and static performance.
