The distribution network reconfiguration is the important part of the distribution automation. The distribution network played the important role that the power is directly to consumer. With the rapid development of economy, people have increasingly high demand for power and power quality. Through the distribution network reconfiguration can not only improve the potential of the distribution network of electricity, but also reduce the power loss and improve system of power quality. Distribution network reconfiguration is a complex nonlinear combinatorial optimization problem, which have the characteristics of nonlinear, discrete and multiple constraints.The paper is based on immune particle swarm optimization algorithm for study of the distribution network reconfiguration. The paper emphasized on the mathematical model, topology analysis, and flow calculation methods of the distribution network, and immune algorithm particle swarm optimization algorithm for the main object of study.The topology analysis is the basis of the distribution network reconfiguration, which of the reasonable or not will seriously affect the optimization efficiency. In this paper, distribution network topology and state variables are analyzed using graph theory, simplified the distribution network model, and improve the efficiency of the topological analysis, while established a mathematical model for distribution system analysis. This paper describes some commonly used in power flow algorithm, and various characteristics of the flow calculation method. The forward and backward iterative can be choose for the power flow algorithm in this paper, because it is found that have many advantages of stable, simple program and taking up less computer resources. According to the basic principles of particle swarm optimization algorithm (PSO) and immune algorithm (IA), strategy of maintain concentration in immune algorithm will be introduced into the particle swarm optimization algorithm, which will produce a hybrid optimization algorithm, and can be called immune particle swarm optimization algorithm (IA-PSO).The advantages of simple, easy to implement and faster search in PSO will be combined the advantages of maintain the population diversity and global, which will overcome of the shortcomings of PSO, can be improvement. To a certain extent, that will avoid the disadvantage of easily trapped into local minima, which will improve the algorithm ability to search the whole solution space, and speeding up the convergence rate.Then this paper proposes the mathematical model in order to reduce the loss and the others as the constraint conditions. The basic steps and flow chart of IA-PSO are given, and using MATLAB as a platform to write the program. In this paper, the static and dynamic reconstructions are verified, which verify the effectiveness and practicality in the power distribution system reconfiguration.
