With the shortcomings of the traditional slope protection technology gradually emerging,, including poor durability and ecological effect, geocell protection of slope are widely used in slope engineering at present. This complex ecological slope protection assembles geocell and grass into a composite geocell-protection-system (GPS), with the advantages of simple construction, low maintenance cost and high ecological and economic benefits. However, overall shear downturn and local erosion occurred in the engineering practice, resulting in the failure of slope protection and secondary disaster. Therefore, it has great theoretical and practical significance to analyze and evaluate the stability of the GPS.On the basis of mechanism analysis of geocell slope protection, this paper studied the stability of the GPS deep, using three methods, including the safety factor, fuzzy reliability and comprehensive evaluation. Some useful conclusions were obtained as follows, which could improve the theory system of geocell slope protection and provide theoretical guidance for the development of standards:(1) Proposed a new method by Coulomb earth pressure theory to calculate the passive earth pressure of the GPS, provided by the foot of the slope, which was more realistic.(2) The stability safety factor model and fuzzy reliability model were established, by which the affects of the slope angle, slope height, anchor spacing and parameters of filling soil on the stability of the GPS were analyzed respectively. Consistent conclusions were obtained.(3) A fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method is proposed and established to assess the GPS stability. The evaluation index system, the rank criteria of stability and the judgment matrix were established. And then the weight of evaluation indexes was determined. The FAHP model was founded by membership function of stability rank and fuzzy synthesis operator.(4) According to the calculation method of the FAHP model, a matlab calculation procedure was complied to evaluate the stability of the GPS comprehensively and quickly. It was proved practical by engineering examples.
