Energy is one of the most important material bases in development and survivalof human society. With the increasing number of buildings, as well as the comfortrequirements, building energy efficiency has become the important step of China’ssustainable development. There are many types of building energy conservation tech-nology, from architectural planning, followed by building operation and management,to the construction materials recycling, can take effective energy saving measures.This paper is aimed at applying renewable energy, which can promote the develop-ment of building energy efficiency.The renewable energy using in Changsha in the building is mainly about the solarhot water systems and the ground source pump system. In December2010, ChangshaCity issued The management approaches of civil building energy conservation inChangsha, which made some requirements for the application of renewable energy inbuilding. Presently, the energy conservation evaluation doesn’t have a strict provisionof the energy efficiency. This paper uses the simulation techniques to calculate thepotential of the renewable energy.By using the TRNSYS simulation software, this paper simulates the energy po-tential rate of the solar hot water system. Designing a residential solar water system,this paper calculates the energy potential rate, and draws the conclusion that the areaof collector plate has the greatest impact on the rate. When the solar guaranteed ratetake the value of30%,40%,50%, the energy saving rate receive the value of42.8%,58.9%,70.3%.Then the paper analyzes the shortage of energy efficiency rating and integrateperformance coefficient when calculating the energy efficiency ratio of heat pump.This ratio should be calculated with stimulate method, which can be obtained after thebuilding model is established, and the energy consumption of air source heat pumpsystem and ground source heat pump is calculated.A typical office building model is established according to the characteristics ofChangsha. With reference to the provisions of the public building energy efficiencydesign standards, building thermal parameters were set and the building load calcu-lated. Air source heat pump simulation platform was established and energy con-sumption was calculated with air source heat pump system. Considering cooling load of Changsha is greater than heat load, only ground source heat pump system wassimulated. The increasing energy consumption results in decreasing source heat pumpsystem efficiency and increasing energy consumption, therefore, the cooling towerwas needed to release heat. The hybrid ground source heat pump system model wasestablished and energy consumption was calculated. Energy-saving rate of the groundsource heat pump system to the air source heat pump is about19.04%in the buildingmodel.
