The differential floating transmission seal is a new type of shaft end-contact mechanicalseal. Based on inspection of the relevant literature, it is used the tribology knowledge and themanufacturing technology to analyze the differential floating characteristics and influencingfactors of the differential floating transmission seal in the real working condition. According tothe structural characteristics of transmission seal seal gap, used hydrodynamic and hydrostaticlubrication theory to solve the performance parameters of the seal.According to field research mapping, built up the3D model of transmission seal andgiven the working parameters of it. Combinated of the transmission characteristics of thehydraulic system optimized the parameters of the main components of the transmission sealstructure by the fluid flow pressure loss calculation, selected screws layout and checkedstrength. Combinated the researches of the sealing performance impact by the domestic andinternational surface roughness. Analysis the numerical simulation and waviness of the sealface surface roughness using the average flow model analysis. The analysis results show theimpact on seal performance characteristics. Given sealing materials and heat treatmentprocesses by differential floating transmission seal structural features and processing analysis.According to the fluid continuity equation and momentum conservation equation, got thecontrol equation of the seal clearance through the mayor equation derivation of thenavier-stokes equations in cylindrical coordinate system.Built up the model of transmissionseal fluid. By using numerical solution method, obtained the discrete form of controlequations with functional for extreme value and finite element method. Solved the fluidanalysis module by FLOTRAN CFD in ANSYS. Then contrasted the solution result and thetheoretical calculation result, verified the correctness of the numerical simulation. In addition,through the chart analysis of seal parameters, got the changes of parameters such as speed,pressure and gap size influence the seal performance.According to the corrosion form of metal and the special environment of sealing,analyzed the main corrosion failure forms and corrosion mechanism of transmission seal, andgive some protective measures.
