As a representative of marine high-tech, dynamic positioning vessel can support theplant to finish variety of marine operation tasks, such as seabed pipeline laying, offshoredrilling, marine rescue, mine laying or off and so on.For the endowed missions, dynamicpositioning vessel require system is stable and reliable. Ship propulsion system as a actuator,which ensure the vessel achieve the capability of dynamic positioning, require higherreliability. Therefore, the study of fault diagnosis techniques for dynamic positioning vesselpropulsion system is important to improve the ship dynamic positioning system’s reliability.In this paper, the “Offshore Oil201” dynamic positioning vessel as the study object,based on expert systems and particle swarm optimezed neural network, launched the study offault diagnosis technology for dynamic positioning vessel propulsion system, the mainresearch contents are as follows:1. In allusion to the full rotary features of dynamic positioning vessel propulsion system,established the mathematical model of the ship propulsion system; in allusion to thecharacteristics of low-frequency movement,which only control the surge, sway and yaw,established mathematical model of the ship; further, the ship’s propulsion systemmathematical model is applied to low frequency motion mathematical model,and through thesimulation experiments to verify the mathematical model of the ship propulsion system iscorrect.2. Induce and analysis the common fault type, fault appearance and the possibleconsequences of the dynamic positioning vessel propulsion system; in allusion to the differentrequired levels of ship dynamic positioning capability for pipe laying operations and liftingoperations, design the typical case, such as the main propulsion fault, retractable rotatingthruster fault, the main propulsion and retractable rotating thruster fault at the same time, andsimulated to analysis the affect,which is that how can the thruster fault the failure affect thedynamic positioning capacity.3. Utilize the basic principles of expert systems to establish the fault diagnosis systemarchitecture of dynamic positioning vessel propulsion system; adopt the formal language toolsto describe the failure of propulsion system; adopt the method of dynamic rules to code thefault diagnosis and generate a rule base; adopt the forward reasoning method to achieve thefault diagnosis of propulsion system. 4. Established the BP neural network for fault diagnosis of dynamic positioning vesselpropulsion system; further, the particle swarm algorithm is applied in neural networks forfault diagnosis of propulsion system,and adopt the particle swarm optimization to optimizethe connection weights of neural networks to overcome the limitations of BP algorithm,whichis easy to fall into local minima, and accelerate network convergence rate. Therebyenhancing the performance of neural network fault diagnosis for propulsion system.In this paper,based on the expert systems and particle swarm optimized neural network,launched the study of fault diagnosis technology for dynamic positioning vessel propulsionsystem; paper’s result provides a reference solution for fault diagnosis of dynamic positioningvessel,and is availed to improve the reliability and stability of dynamic positioning vessel.
