It has become a very important research topic about how to reduce ship rolling better inthe field of modern ship motion control, as the ships move with very small damping whichwill cause severe rolling in the storm. Rudder roll stabilization is an active stabilizer. Due toits advantages such as low cost、compact, a lot energy has been invested in this technologyboth at home and abroad, and it has been successfully applied on real ships. After the Rudderroll stabilization is applied, the problem of rudder rolling reduction is under good control. Notonly the ship’s seaworthiness and safety are improved, the normal work of ship equipment isensured.This thesis analyzes the rudder roll stabilization system and designs a control system.The analysis gives a mathematical model of ship roll motion, uses the model to simulate thedisturbance caused by the lateral movements of wave, and also does simulation analysis onthe rolling response to different interfere. The saturation characteristic of steering enginesystem is introduce in the analysis, which laid the foundation for control system design.Based on PID control algorithm and state feedback control algorithm, a rudder rollcontrol system is designed, and theoretical analysis and simulation are carried out. Thesimulation result shows that the control system can meet the anti-rolling demand; thereforegood effect of rolling reduction is achieved.In order to make the rudder stabilization control system be able to better reduce theinfluence to ship courses, a high pass filter is added into the control system and itseffectiveness is verified by simulation test. Simplex optimization algorithm based on ITAEindex is raised in the state feedback system for the optimization of state parameter setting, andto overcome the disadvantage of time consuming caused by setting state feedback parameter.This control algorithm makes it possible to obtain the best optimal controller parameters inthe shortest time, and then achieve effective control of the rudder roll system...
