There are many classifications of reversible converters, and they are widely used inmany areas because of the reversible power flow. With the rapid development of newenergy and electric vehicle industry, the batteries get widespread applications and itsproducts get a rapid growth. Battery formation manufacturing process is a key step ofbattery production, which directly affects the battery’s quality. The traditional batterydischarging process is resistance consumption, which causes a great waste of energy. Thepurpose of this article is to design a reversible three-phase converter which can be used inbattery formation manufacturing process. When working at rectifier, it charges the battery, and when working at converter, it sends the battery energy back to the grid to save energyand reduce the cose of battery production. The high and low frequency mathmatical model is established which is based on theanalysis of three-phase converter power flow, and selested the three-phase stationarycoordinate system control strategy. The control system is based on the fixed-point DSPTMS320F2812, and the strategy in which the direct current tracking control combined withclassic digital PI regulator is used. A system simulation is processed under the Simulink, and the hardware parameters of the converter are also designed in this paper, as well as thedrive circuit and the measurement and protection circuit, the programming of controlsystem is also completed. After the testing of prototype, the experiment results show thatthe converter can works at conversion efficiency above85%, power factor above98%,harmonic limits less than5%, with half load, which basically meet the design requirements, verify the system design feasibility.
