The Zn/AgO battery has the highest theoretical specific capacity.Its theoretical specificenergy is300Wh/kg.It has been widely used in many ways,such as portabledevices,stabilized voltage supply,emergency power supply,electronic watch,missile androckets.AgO was prepared by chemical method in this paper.Its structure and morphologywere studied. The modification of Zn/AgO battery was researched by adding additives intoalkaline electrolyte solution,changing surface condition of zinc cathode,using nanocomposite alkaline solid polymer electrolyte and so on. Alkaline solid polymer electrolyteswas prepared by solution casting method and the structure and electrochemical performanceof that were studied by XRD,SEM,AC impedance,cyclic voltammetry and etc. Constantcurrent charge-discharge test was used for Zn/AgO battery of different electrolytes and zinccathode. The effect of electrolyte and the state of zinc cathode on the electrochemicalperformance of the battery was also investigated.The results showed that the purity rate of AgO can reach up to97%.This material hasmonoclinic structure. With the electrodeposition zinc as battery cathode, adding additivesinto electrolyte can improve the first discharge specific capacity of the battery.When0.2%LiCl as inorganic additves was added into electrolyte solution,the first specificcapacity was improved from250mAh/g to308mAh/g at0.1C; When0.004%Cetyl threemethyl brominated ammonium as organic additves was added into electrolyte solution,thefirst specific capacity was improved from250mAh/g to310mAh/g. when the mass ratio ofalkaline solid polymer electrolytes was m(PVA):m(KOH):m(PAAS):m(HZSM-5)=1:2:1/7:1/8, composite nano alkaline solid polymer electrolyte with good performance canbe got.It has the highest ionic conductivity about4.91×10-2S/cm and the liquid absorptionrate about256.6%and has a wide electrochemical stability window about2.2V. With thispolymer electrolyte assembled in the Zn/AgO battery, the first discharge specific capacity is287mAh/g.After20times charge-recharge cycles, the specific capacity can still remain at170mAh/g. This indicate that the composite nano alkaline polymer solid electrolyte canwell improve the cycle performance of Zn/AgO battery.
