The world is facing serious energy crisis with the increasing consumption of thenon-renewable energy. A lot of countries are turning to the renewable ocean energyresources. Wave energy has the highest economic value among the renewableresources in ocean energy. In recent years, the number of wave power generation’stype is on the increase. However, many devices are damaged by the wave duringoperation. Therefore, how to ensure the safety of the wave power equipment becomesa new research field all over the world.Based on a wave power project, the support structures of the wave powergeneration were designed and structural strength was analyzed using ANSYS,considering typical environment conditions and water depths. At the same time, thehydrodynamics analysis of pontoons for wave power was conducted, and the optimaldesign based on the obtained energy of different pontoons was obtained.Working conditions and extreme sea conditions are taken into considerationduring the design, and water depth is14meters and20meters. Finally, we get aconclusion: if the wave power generation equipment will be set up in the water depthof14meters, the diameter of the supporting pile should be2.5m. If the depth of wateris20m, the diameter of the supporting pile should be2.8m. The selection of buoyshould be the one with the larger diameter of14meters and smaller diameter of8.5meters. This pontoon could obtain more energy.
