As human’s attention turned to the ocean, there are increasing numbers of marineexploration, so far, sound waves are considered to be the most effective tools of conveyinginformation in the ocean. People devote a lot of manpower material resources to the study ofthe sound wave propagation characteristics in the sea.The same as a carrier of information transmission, different from electromagnetic wave,sound wave is a physical field that also have scalar field and vector field, propagating in thesound field, acoustic wave also contains the sound pressure and particle velocity informationat the same time, familiar with characteristics of sound propagation in the sound field, we canget more information of the target source and sound field by the reasonable analyzing andprocessing of sound pressure and particle velocity information.Combination of the actual situation that our country’s continental shelf is quite gentle,most waters are shallow sea, in order to gain more target information from sound waves, thispaper do research on vector sound field characteristics of target in waveguide environment byusing sound field modeling method to analysis the differences between the scalar informationand vector information, and study the effects on sound propagation characteristics of target inwaveguide environment made by factors as the frequency of the sound source and soundsource depth. As different modeling methods for the simulation of different conditions,according to this article of concrete research content, this paper used the method of virtualsource in the near field acoustic modeling simulation analysis, the method of normal mode inthe far field acoustic modeling in the simulation analysis.According to the simulation conditions and theoretical analysis results in the text, thetank experiments and field experiments had been designed in the article. Through the analysisof the experimental results,Vector sound field characteristics in the actual waveguideenvironment had been summarized,and analysis of experimental results were compared withthe theoretical analysis results validation.
