Aiming at giving the mechanical analysis and optimization of hybrid bridge ofarch and beam during the process of suspender tension, this paper includes thefollowing major achievements.Firstly, the rational design states of structure has been discussed, and it wasdivided into three stages-construction stage, completed bridge stage, and service stage.Then, the relationship between the three rational design states has been discussed, andthe service stage is proposed to be the key part. However, due to the uncertainty ofinfluences by variable forces, shrinkage and creep and other influencing factors, theoptimization target is determined to be reasonable design state under permanent load,which is also called the reasonable design state during completed bridge stage.Secondly, based on the method of cable stayed bridge,the tension of rationalcompleted bridge stage of hybrid bridge of arch and beam was solved. Moreover, therational design state of hybrid bridge of arch and beam has been discussed and theoptimization target of cable force during construction has also been put forward.Thirdly, with a real case of Donghua Bridge in Jiangmen, a FEM (Finite ElementModel) is built and simulated aiming at the process of suspender tension, duringwhich the mechanical behaviors and deformation is analyzed to provide references forthe construction. Moreover, a further optimization of suspender tension sequences hasbeen done to improve the inner forces of ribs.Fourthly, the stress variation of ribs by different sequences of suspender tensionshas been analyzed.The calculation results indicate that: more rational stress of ribswas calculated by alternately symmetry tension with the sequence of suspendertensions from the area of arch spring to the area of1/4span to the area of vault.Fifthly, the stress of arch and beam by one step of suspender tensions were got. Results showthat the method of suspender tensions was inappropriate for Donghua Bridge because of the stressof arch、the utilizing rate of material and cost control。...
