Theoretical Research On The Linguistics System Of Plant Landscaping

As one of the world three landscape architecture systems, Chinese classical gardening enjoys the world-renowned reputation for its unique artistic beauty. Plants, as an important factor in gardening, play an indispensable role in Chinese gardening. In the past, garden designers were influenced by traditional thoughts and expressed their feeling into plant landscape which makes classical gardening landscape tranquil and more enjoyable to watch. With the rapid development of modern society and economy, the material life has been greatly enriched which bring transformation of modern life style. With the diversity of aesthetic idea enhanced, audience of plant landscape changed and diversification of designer’s background come out, modern plant landscape has been effected for its development. The modern plant landscape has not only use the plant morphology, texture, color to a reasonable allocation which could make the work more adapt to the environment and merge into urban space, but also pay more attention to build culture details which reflect the beauty of artistic and conception of ecology and economy.By elaborating the basic conception, design notion and commonly used way of plant landscape, this paper finds out the characteristics of symbol in plant landscape, and there is a similarity between disposition patterns, relevance and language system of plants. After a systematic research of the conception, features, structure, communication pattern, mechanism, relationship between cognitive subject, type and way of presentation of the semeiology and linguistics, to a certain degree, plant landscape has the symbolic characteristics. The language of plant landscape can be raised to a symbolic system. With the basic research method of structuralism linguistics, this paper systematically built the plant landscape language theory system and carried this system into traditional&modern classic plant landscape cases to discuss. Moreover, this paper comes to the conclusion that the design method which is based on the plant landscape language system has a great importance on breaking through from plain formal beauty, at the same time, to improve the aesthetic grade and endow more connotations.
