At present, the belt conveyor is the important transport equipment for the deliveryof bulk materials, having a wide range of applications in the coal, ports, cement, emicals,metallurgy and other industries. In order to increase the delivery efficiency of materials,the belt conveyor has the inevitable trend for large and high-speed mode. The startup,braking and power balance problems of belt conveyor have become increasinglyprominent, and the relevant technology becomes the key technology urgently to bedeveloped for the large belt conveyor.The controllable variable speed device is a new device that solves the startup,braking and power balance problems of belt conveyor, including coordinated three parts:mechanical transmission system, hydraulic system, and electrical control system, whichcan achieve soft startup, soft braking and power balance of the belt conveyor. In thecontrollable variable speed device, hydraulic system is an important component whichwill significantly affect the performance of the whole-machine performance. So CADmethod of the hydraulic system will materially improve the technical level of the beltconveyor. This paper studied fuel tank’s independent structural parameter and itsparametric description and CAD method of hydraulic system of controllable variablespeed device for the belt conveyor, using parametric technology, elasticity theory andanalytic geometry, focusing on the fuel tank structure.Hydraulic system includes standard components and non-standard componentssuch as fuel tank. So design of non-standard components (such as fuel tank) is theessential task of the hydraulic system design. In this paper, based on the analysis ofhydraulic system structure and feature, the hydraulic system of the controllable variablespeed device of the belt conveyor was studied in the following three aspects: Firstly,Principle and structural characteristics of the the controllable variable speed device andits hydraulic system of the belt conveyor had been analyzed; Secondly, Throughanalyzing force and deformation of fuel tank based on the elasticity theory, theindependent structural parameter was determined; The parameterized model of fuel tankwas established, which provided a theoretical basis for implementation of CAD methodof the hydraulic system; Finally: The system used VB6.0as secondary development tools, and the three-dimensional modeling function of SoildWorks2008, to realize theparameterized design of the fuel tank structure. In addition, this paper has maderesearch of CAD model on the standard hydraulic components such as the hydraulicpump unit.
