Automobile visibility is one important segment during the procedure of carbody general layout. It directly influences riding reliability safety, amenity andoperational convenience. The vision is checked manually in the past. Nowadayshow to check visual field efficiently, accurately and intelligently, and shortendesign periodicity is an emphasis for present automobile research. Sodevelopment the special system for automobile visual field is significant.In order to solve this problem, the project develops a system which cancheck the cluster vision automatically, using CAA. The main content of thispaper can be divided into four parts:(1) Analyse the interface/implementation and the interactive statemechanism of CAAAs there’s no such article to explain how the interface/implementation andthe interactive state mechanism works, the paper firstly studies those mechanismbased on plenty of experience and puts an example to detail it.(2) Propose a method of rim treatment and cluster vision check processCombining with the basic theories of driver’s vision and the actual situationof the local company, the design process is separated into two parts which arethe eyellispe part and the cluster part.(3) Develop an automobile visual field checking systemBased on the design process, supported by CATIA V5software as workingplatform, using the specify secondary development tool CAA and Visual C++,and being directed by the knowledge based engineering(KBE) methodology, thisproject then develops an automatic checking system for automobile visual check. And the new system is integrated into CATIA. The system includes three parts,they are the eyellispe module, the rim obstructed area module and the hubobstructed area module.(4) Practical application of the new systemAt last, combining with a new car project in SAIC Motor Technical Center,the system’s practicality and feasibility is put to check. The result is satisfactory.
