With the impeller machinery increasingly developing to high power,highefficiency and high performance, parameters such as speed, temperature and load areenhanced unceasingly. It makes the blade is prone to dangerous vibration,then effectiveblade vibration reduction is very important.In this paper, the gap-type blade with tips ismodeled as a spring-mass model and its oblique-impact damping mechanism anddamping effects are studied by using numerical analysis on the basis of the nonlineardynamics. The results have a certain reference value in engineering design.The thesis includes the following sections:1. The research background and development status of the impact damping ofblades with tips are introduced.2. The collision vibration theory are briefly reviewed.3. The dynamic model of a three-mass oblique-impact vibrating system isestablished.The oblique-impact damping characteristics of blades with tips and thedynamic characteristics of the system are analyzed.4. The dynamic model of the whole-circle blades with tips oblique-impactvibrating system is presented.Its damping characteristics are analyzed.5.At the end of the paper,the main investigation results are summarized.
